Lobsters at Kelp Bed
San Diego, CA
Only several miles off San Diego coastline, there lays a giant kelp forest rooted on a flat ocean bottom
in a protected underwater park. Even with the absence of rocky structure, the forest is still teeming with a multitude
of marine life. Right after diving into the forest, I descended to the bottom of about 60 feet water and started exploring
the small creatures living on the ocean floor. There are abundant of sea urchins, sea cucumbers and star fish. Right next
to a kelp root, I spotted something moving under a construction block – it was a group of lobsters! I deflated my BC and lied
down right in front of them. Then a group picture was made.
