2008.1.12

Here is a video I made from Florida Trip. It’s pretty much just the underwater pictures and clips. I didn’t orgnize the pictures of the trip from last year (2006). I plan to make one including my three trips. That way you may have better idea of what’s going on of diving in Florida.

RHK STM image

One of the STM images that Ling and I obtained on silver surface is featured ‘image of the month’ at RHK website.

The image shows the sulfite (SO3) and sulfate (SO4) intermediates on Ag(111) after reacting sulfur dioxide with the Ag(111)-p(4×4)-O surface oxide at 300 K. From the direct observation using STM, we show that the metal atoms is actively involved into the catalytic process.[Read the full story @ RHK website]

pictures from Florida Trip

I got home safely. Thanks for Ning to have me stay in Orlando. It’s such a wonderful time to spend Christmas and New Year in my dream place. I uploaded all the pictures from the Florida Trip. However, I didn’t get time to put the discriptions for each of them – I will do that later on. Here are the links:

Corridor Wreck

In the past several years, I always spent the new year’s eve on the road, driving back home as soon as possible. In that case I had much time to think, to think about what had happened in the past and what would happen in the new year. This time, I can stay with my friend and wait for the flight back home. This actually distracts me from thinking too much.

I finished the diving and was completely exhausted with my sinus badly infected.  But I miss everytime that I grab the camera and dive into the water, I would never know what will happen and what I will capture. Maybe what captured by the camera is not the most important, but the fun to explore the new things I would never expect gives me most motivation.

This is exactly the same to the life. I am amazed how much can happen in one year – precisely, not even one year but just in a couple of months, I would experience things I never thought about and life gets into a completely new stage that I barely imagined. This, I think, is the most amazing part of life.

Wish you a wonderful and successful new year!
